Controversy over banning meat shops on Independence Day
After Maharashtra, the order of keeping the meat shops and slaughterhouses closed on August 15 in Telangana on August 15, Independence Day increased. In the last three days, apart from the Municipal Corporation of Old Hyderabad City, Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation of Thane district, Chhatrapati Shivaji Municipality Administration gave such orders.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray has expressed displeasure over the decision of meat ban. Responding to media questions, he said- This is not a matter of religion nor is it a matter of national interest.
AIMIM Chief and MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday described the order of Old Hyderabad City as unconstitutional. Said that on August 15, Independence Day has to do with eating meat.
There is also a protest against this decision in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have also denied such decisions.
Owaisi said- these violation of people’s privacy
MP Asaduddin Owaisi said, ‘What is the relationship between meat and Independence Day. 99 percent of people in Telangana eat meat. Owaisi has described this decision as a decision to violate people’s freedom, privacy, livelihood, culture, nutrition and rights of religion.
Telangana High Court seeks reply
The matter has reached the High Court in Telangana. The Telangana High Court has sought an explanation from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) regarding its order to close beef shops and slaughterhouses on Independence Day.
The petition filed against this order of the Telangana government said that this order is arbitrary. Article 14 (Right to Equality) and Article 19 (1) (G) (G) (right to adopt any profession). High Court Justice Vijaysen Reddy will hear further in this matter.
