Cooperative societies will get strength in Bihar, Bank Mitra, M-ATM and Jan Aushadhi Kendras will be expanded:
- The Bihar government is working on several schemes on a large scale to empower cooperatives and agriculture. In this direction, it has been planned to connect maize, pulses and oilseed crops with primary agricultural credit committees (PACS), which will give direct benefit to the farmers. Along with this, 100 new farmer producing organizations (FPOs) are being formed, which will help farmers to increase their income.
- Improvement in cooperative sector
- The Bihar government has taken several important steps to strengthen the cooperative sector:
- PACS centers will be expanded in every district, which will provide more facilities to rural farmers.
- Jan Aushadhi Kendras will be opened in every pack so that people can get cheap and quality medicines in rural areas.
- A special plan has been brought to promote women’s milk producing committees. Currently 30,519 milk producing committees are employed in the state, of which 14.39 lakh members. The government aims to have 50% stake in women.
- Expansion of banking services
- The state government is developing cooperatives as bank friends, which will increase banking facilities in rural areas. Micro ATMs will be given to 1500 committees in the next 6 months. Also, the grant for 785 M-ATMs has been approved by NABARD, out of which these machines have been distributed to 100 committees.
- The program will participate in the program 5350 PACS Committees, Fisheries Cooperation Committees, Weavers Cooperation Committees, 1000 Milk Producer Committees, 300 Vegetable Producers Committees and 300 Handloom Weavers Committees.
- Plan to bring vegetables to international market
- Agriculture Minister Prem Kumar said that a special mobile app is being developed to increase the reach of Bihar’s vegetables abroad. This will increase their income by connecting farmers directly to the international market.
- Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate
- Union Home Minister and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate various schemes of Cooperative Department in Bapu Auditorium on 29-30 March. On this occasion, micro ATMs will be distributed to Bank Mitra Committees. Also, the Makhana Processing Center will be inaugurated in Darbhanga, which will provide better market to Makhana growers.
- Not only this, 11 new warehouses will be inaugurated, which will increase the storage facility of agricultural products. 500 packs will be declared as e-pax and they will be given certificates. Two packs will lay the foundation stone of warehouse construction under the world’s largest food storage scheme.
- These schemes of the Government of Bihar will give widespread benefits to farmers, women and cooperative societies. These efforts will strengthen the cooperative sector of Bihar and improve the rural economy.
