The gleaming world of cinema attracts everyone and draws towards them. To be a part of this, people are willing to do anything, even the IAS job achieved after their stable, respectable and much difficulties, which is achieved after India’s most difficult examination. Today, we are going to tell you about one such personality, who first wanted to become an IAS by Cracking UPSC, when he achieved this position, the films wooed them and then they became part of the world of politics after films. This person, who tasted every taste of success, is none other than Shivaram, a name that rises from the soil of Karnataka and not only reached the heights of Indian administrative service, but also made his strong identity in areas such as cinema and politics.

How can Shivram become IAS?

The story of his life is no less than a film script, which has struggle, dreams, success and growing steps in a new direction at every turn. Born on 6 April 1953 in Urgalli village in Ramnagar district of Karnataka, Shivram comes from an ordinary family. The dreams of this talented young man studying in the village school were very big. To overcome the initial challenges of life, he learned skills like typing and shorthand, as his first goal was to get a government job. In 1973, he started his services in the intelligence unit of the State Police Department, but his real dream was to get a place in the country’s highest civil service IAS.

Historical achievement in the name of Shivram

On the basis of tireless hard work and strong intentions, Shivram passed the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination in 1986 and became the first person to pass this exam in Kannada language. It was not only his, but also a historical achievement of Kannada speakers. His journey proves that language is never a hindrance, if the resolution is true. His tenure as an IAS officer was spent in many districts of Karnataka Bijapur, Bengaluru, Mysore, Kopal and Davangere. From Public Education Commissioner to Food Commissioner and Managing Director of MSIL, in the posts he worked, he worked to bring real changes in people’s lives with his administrative skills.

Entry in films and then steps in politics

K Shivaram’s passion was not limited to administration only. In 1993, he stepped into Kannada cinema and made his acting journey debut with the film ‘Ba Nalle Madhuchandrake’. After this, he saw a strong presence in many films like ‘Vasant Kavya’, ‘Kalanayak’, ‘Naga’, ‘Jai’, ‘Tiger’. There was an ease in his acting, as he won every character. After retirement, Shivram started his new innings in politics. He first joined the Congress, then joined the Janata Dal (Secular) and contested the Lok Sabha elections from Bijapur in 2014. Despite the defeat, he did not give up. He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and became part of the party’s state executive committee. Now Shivram is not in this world. In February 2024 last year, at the age of 70, he said goodbye to the world.
