Cyprus conferred PM Modi with the highest honor
Cyprus on Monday awarded the country’s highest honor ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Makaros III’ to PM Narendra Modi. President Nicos Christodolidase gave him this honor at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Modi reached Cyprus on a two -day tour.
Modi said, ‘I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Cyprus government and the people of Cyprus. This is not only the honor of Narendra Modi but also for 140 crore Indians. This is the respect of their abilities and aspirations. This is the honor of our culture, brotherhood and the ideology of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. ‘
Earlier, Modi was welcomed at the Presidential Palace. This was followed by a meeting between the heads of the two countries. Modi reached Cyprus on Sunday. Now the PM has left to Canada to participate in the G7 Summit.
Modi presented Kashmiri carpet to Cyprus President
Modi presented the Kashmiri silk carpet to President Christodulides. It is in dark red, with brown and red edges. Traditional bell-boots and geometric shapes are artistry. It has a special effect of double color, which seems to change the color according to the angle and light. As if one carpet has two different designs.
The PM gave a silver quotate purse to Cyprus’s first woman Philipa Karsera. It has been made by the artisans of Andhra Pradesh. Fine floral designs inspired by temples and royal art have been carved on it.
President Nicos said- Cyprus stands with India against terrorism
PM Modi and President Nicos held a joint press conference. He said, ‘We also talked about bilateral relations, India-European Union Relations and INDLE EAST-Economic Corridor. Cyprus-Turkia issues and re-ecology of Cyprus were also involved in the discussion. Cyprus stands with India against any kind of terrorism.
PM Modi said, ‘Mutual belief in democracy is a strong foundation for our relations. Relations between India and Cyprus are neither formed by circumstances nor are they limited. We respect each other’s sovereignty and regional integrity. ‘
