Karachi: A Pakistan court sent a woman to two days police custody on Thursday in the case of alleged murder of his daughter and a young man in the name of false pride in Balochistan province. The incident took place a few days ago in the Sanjida Dagry area near Quetta. A woman named Gul Jaan Bibi was arrested even when the video of the murder went viral on social media. In this video, the woman justified these murders citing Baloch tribal customs.
What did the accused woman say?
The accused woman was produced before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) at Quetta. The court has sent him on two days police remand. In the video, Gul is seen holding the Quran and saying that this act was not a crime, but in line with traditional values. She said in the video message, “My daughter was married and was the mother of five children. He was murdered due to his relationship with a Baloch young man. This young man used to post objectionable videos on tick talk despite many warnings by our family.
‘Death sentence’
The accused woman said, “In Baluchi culture, having an illicit relationship is a crime and is punished for this. The decision to shoot was taken by a Jirga (Kabalai Parishad). ”The police have also arrested a tribal leader and 10 others in connection with the case. The case came into the limelight last week when the video went viral. In this video, it is seen that Gul’s daughter and her male friend were shot by some people in a mountainous area.
CM Sarfaraz Bugti condemned
The incident was strongly condemned by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti. He had said that 14 suspects have been arrested in this case of murder for false pride. Government spokesperson Shahid Rind had said that the investigation of the case is going on. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) president Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called the suspects as “animals” and said that they are not entitled to any concession. (Language)
