Peshawar: Information of a horrific explosion is coming out in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Former Pakistan minister Abbas Khan Afridi has died in this blast. It is being told that the explosion occurred due to gas leakage at Afridi’s house. He was seriously injured in this. After this, Abbas Khan Afridi died on Friday. Pakistan Puli has given this information. It is being told that this accident happened on Thursday. In this accident, three people, including former MP of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Abbas Afridi, were scorched.

According to the police, there was a tremendous explosion in his residence due to gas leakage, causing a fire in a part of the house and people were badly injured. Immediately all the injured were rushed to the nearest hospital, where doctors tried their best to save them, but Afridi’s condition was very serious. Despite the tireless efforts of doctors, former Union Minister Afridi succumbed during treatment on Friday.

Who was Afridi

Afridi was not only a former MP and federal minister, but he was considered a major face in Pakistan’s politics. He was also a senator and his political influence was especially felt in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. Abbas Afridi retired from active politics in the year 2024 and also resigned from the PML-N party. However, he continued to contribute as social service and political advisor. His death has caused a major setback to regional politics.

Police started investigation

The police have started investigating the incident. Initially it seems to be a case of a gas leakage, but the exact causes of the explosion and the possibilities of negligence are being investigated. Local people and political colleagues, paying tribute to Afridi, described his death as an irreparable loss. No official statement has been released by the government yet, but a wave of mourning has run throughout the Kohat region.
