The woman died during treatment late at night. Jahangirabad police had registered a case against the husband on the complaint of the woman’s father Kishanlal Sahu, resident of Bhopal.

Narsinghpur resident Kishanlal Sahu had given a written application in the women’s police station that his daughter Ranu had a dispute with Bhopal resident Yogendra Sahu in the year 2006. Since 2008, her in-laws have not allowed her to meet her daughter and even kept her children away from her. After this, people from her maternal side did not meet Ranu. Then news was received that Ranu has been kept hostage in her in-laws’ house. To find out this, the sister met Ranu two days ago and made a video of it and sent it, and the family was shocked. After this, when the NGO, the victim’s family members, women police station and Jahangirabad police station reached, they saw that the victim Ranu was tied with a rope in the room. She was not even able to walk. He brought her out in his lap and after seeing Ranu’s condition, she was admitted to the hospital. Doctors said that his weight had reduced to 25 kg. Where the victim Ranu Sahu died during treatment. People from the maternal side have accused the husband, father-in-law and other members of the in-laws’ family of holding the daughter hostage and not giving her food and water, and have demanded action. On the other hand, the husband and father-in-law said that the victim was a mental patient, who was being treated. The husband has denied taking hostage. The husband even said that four days ago his brother-in-law and his cousin had met Ranu.
