Death toll from Israeli attacks in Lebanon reaches 2,255, claims Health Ministry

Beirut. The Lebanese Health Ministry said that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on the country since the beginning of the Hezbollah-Israel conflict on October 8, 2023 has reached 2,255, while a total of 10,524 people have been injured. The Health Ministry said that 26 people were killed and 144 injured in Israeli air strikes in Lebanon on Friday.

Meanwhile, Israel Defense Forces said about 90 rockets and missiles were fired into the country on Saturday, most of which were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Some rockets and missiles were aimed at Haifa and the port city of Akko, while others were aimed at the Galilee region.

The Israeli military said some missiles were intercepted and no casualties were reported. Two drones launched from Lebanon were also stopped. Israeli forces have launched intensified attacks on Lebanon since late September, raising concerns of a wider war as clashes between Hamas and Israel continue in the Gaza Strip.

Let us tell you that earlier the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had said that one of the two drones fired from Lebanon into central Israel had targeted a residential building in the Israeli city of Herzliya. In which there were no casualties.

According to the report, the IDF had said on Friday that the second drone was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force. Both drones were being monitored from the moment they entered Israeli territory. According to media reports, residents of the building were in a protected area at the time of the attack because warning sirens had been activated in Herzliya and the nearby cities of Ramat Hasharon and Hod Hasharon.
