ADMM-Plus is a forum that includes the 10-nation ASEAN Association of Southeast Asian Nations and its eight dialogue partners India, China, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia and the United States. Laos, as the current chair of DMM-Plus, is hosting the meeting.
The situation in the Indo-Pacific region as well as ways to deal with the threat of terrorism are likely to be discussed in the meeting. During the ADMM-Plus meeting, Singh is also likely to hold bilateral meetings with defense ministers of several participating countries. India became the dialogue partner of ASEAN in 1992. The first ADMM-Plus meeting was held in Hanoi in October 2010. Since 2017, ADMM-Plus ministers have been meeting annually to strengthen regional security cooperation.
