Delhi-Amritsar-Chandigarh Bullet Train

The Delhi-Amritsar-Chandigarh is a 459 km long high-speed rail corridor and proposed to have stations spread across Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. The stations on Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar high speed railway corridor could be Dwarka in Delhi, Sonepat, Panipat, Kukurshetra, Ambala, Mohali, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar.

IIM-Research, New Delhi, has been assigned to carry out the socio-economic survey for the corridor. The Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar high speed railway corridor is proposed to have a dedicated 55-feet wide railway track for bullet trains.

If all goes well, the travel time between Amritsar to Delhi would reduce to two hours from the current five hours. The high-speed railway corridor would have fencing on both sides to prevent any untoward incident.

Once the socio-economic survey is completed, the land acquisition process is expected to start soon.
