Delhi-NCR and earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir: come to Afghanistan

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Afghanistan at 12:17 pm on Saturday at 12:17 pm. Its impact was felt till Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi-NCR. However, there is no news of loss of life and property till now.

According to the National Earthquake Science Center, the effect of the earthquake was also felt in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. A person in Srinagar said- I felt an earthquake. I was in the office, then my chair shouted. People from some areas were seen running out of homes and offices.

Center in Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region

According to the police station for Sisamology (NCS), the earthquake came down 86 km below the surface. Its center was in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region. This area is counted among the sensitive zone for earthquake. Earthquake is common in this area.

There was a 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on March 28 at 11:50 am. It was the biggest earthquake of 200 years. Its shocks were felt in 5 five countries including India, Thailand, Bangladesh and China. More than 3 thousand people have died in a fierce earthquake in Myanmar. At the same time, the number of injured was more than 4500.

The air traffic control tower of Nepida International Airport collapsed due to Myanmar earthquake. Satellite pictures show that the tower is dropped like a tree uprooted from the ground. All the people present in the tower died during the earthquake.

On 16 February, earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR at around 5:36 am on Monday morning. Two and a half hours later, an earthquake also occurred in Siwan, Bihar at 8 am. The intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale at both places is measured 4. The earthquake was the center of New Delhi and its depth is stated to be five kilometers. The National Earthquake Science Center (NCS) gave this information on the social media platform x.

In Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, people came out of their houses due to the rapid tremors of the earthquake. However, no information has been received about the loss of life and property so far. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on the social media platform X regarding the earthquake. He appealed to the people to remain calm. Also said that the officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.
