The weather was pleasant due to intermittent rains in the national capital Delhi. However, once again, there is a humid heat in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that today there is a possibility of heavy monsoon rains in Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department has also said that light to moderate rains will continue in the national capital throughout the week. The forecast came after moderate rains in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad on Monday, which brought a lot of relief from the heat.

Monsoon caught speed in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

Many districts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive light rain today. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. After a short time peace, the monsoon has gained momentum again in Bihar. On Sunday, many areas of the state received good rains, which brought relief from the scorching heat and humidity. Even today, rain alert has been issued in some districts.

Warning of heavy rain continues in hilly states

IMD has released ‘Red Alert’ for heavy rains in parts of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, including Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. Heavy rains are estimated in Jammu and Kashmir between July 21 to 23. Himachal Pradesh is expected to receive rain from July 21 to 27. IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh till 23 July.

Possibility of heavy rains in coastal areas of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra

IMD has issued a warning of extremely heavy rainfall in coastal areas of Goa and Central Maharashtra from July 21 to 27. During this time there is a possibility of intermittent rains. In addition, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Karnataka including South Kannada, Udupi and North Kannada districts within the next 24 hours. According to IMD data, Hangalore in Udupi district recorded the highest rainfall on Sunday, while Gadag district recorded 77.1 mm rainfall, which is the third highest rainfall so far in July.
