Delhi: A shocking incident took place in southeast Delhi’s Badarpur area when a 50-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her son following an argument.
According to police, the dispute arose over his desire to move to Canada for work, which the mother reportedly opposed.
Man stabbed mother multiple times
The incident took place on the evening of November 6 in Molarband village. The accused, Krishan Kant (31), had an argument with his mother, Geeta, about his plans to migrate to Canada.
When Geeta refused to support his move, the conflict escalated. In a fit of rage, Krishan Kant stabbed her multiple times with a knife he had purchased earlier.
After the attack, Krishan called his father, Surjeet Singh (52), and asked him to come home immediately. Upon arriving, Surjeet was met with an apology from his son, who then directed him to go upstairs and see what had happened. Surjeet rushed upstairs to find his wife lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds.
Investigation and arrest
Surjeet Singh quickly took Geeta to Apollo Hospital, but the doctors declared her dead on arrival. By the time help arrived, Krishan Kant had already fled the spot. However, he was later arrested from the same locality.
The family consists of Surjeet Singh, a property dealer with an office on Tanki Road in Jaitpur, and his two sons. The younger son, Sahil Bholi (27), works at a bank, while Krishan Kant, the accused, was unemployed and had a history of drug addiction. The family had been urging Krishan to settle down and get married before considering a move abroad, which reportedly led to repeated arguments.
During police interrogation, Krishan Kant confessed to the crime, explaining that his frustration over the argument with his mother drove him to commit the murder. Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh said that a murder case has been registered against Krishan Kant, and further investigation is underway.
