On Thursday, the debris from the rainy drain Kupdagad stopped the flow of the Yamuna river in Sianachatti of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, which made a lake there. Keeping the security in mind, the surrounding houses and hotels have been evacuated and 150 people have been sent to a safe place. For security, the entire village has been vacated, but the crisis like Dharali still remains in this village. If this lake breaks, the entire village will flow.

The team of Barkot’s Deputy Collector, State Disaster Provisional Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Police, Fire Service, Irrigation Department, Revenue Department are present on the spot.

Hotel-money made empty

On Thursday evening, the debris in Kupadagad made a lake in the Yamuna, causing water to all hotels and houses on the bottom of the road. Water is flooded up to the top of the bridge. Police said that all houses and hotels in the surrounding areas have been evacuated and 150 people have been sent to safe places. Police say that apart from this, Ojri, Pujargaon, Pali, Khadi and Kuthanore have also been alerted.

Asked people of low -lying areas to be conscious

Police said that all people in the low -lying areas have been asked to be alert. All local residents have been appealed not to go around the Yamuna river and stay in safe places.

On June 28 also, heavy debris came due to cloudburst

Earlier, on the late night of June 28, a cloudburst had caused heavy debris from Kupdagad and the flow of the Yamuna river stopped, which led to a lake on the Yamuna river. Even then there was panic among the local people as the lake water reached the lower floors of the hotels. However, a few days later the water of the lake was gradually reduced when the debris was removed by the machinery. State BJP media in -charge Manveer Chauhan said that his party’s government is fully standing with the affected families in this hour of crisis.
