Indian Test cricket team vice -captain Rishabh Pant was batting brilliantly in the first innings of the third Test match against England but he was runout by 74 runs unfortunately. KL Rahul was very disappointed with Pant’s runout and after the match he also talked about this runout.

Talking after the third day’s game, Rahul said that the run out was probably due to Pant’s selfless intentions. Both of them discussed the hope of Rahul’s century to reach a century before lunch and after Shoaib Bashir threw the last over of the session, they felt that this was the right time to complete the century but Pant was runout during this time.

Rahul said during the press conference, “A few hours before that, I told him that if possible, I will try to complete my century before lunch and after Bashir throwing the last over before lunch, I felt that this is a good chance for me to complete a century. Unfortunately, I knew the ball directly into the fielder.

Speaking further, he said, “I think Rishabh just wanted to rotate the strike and see if he could bring me back on strike. But yes, it should not have been run-out at that time. It really changed the rhythm. It was disappointing for both of us. Of course, no one wants to lose his wicket.”
