Talking with the Times of India, Shubhangi said, I spoke to him on 16 April and prayed for him to recover. I am quite emotional and shock due to his sudden departure. I want to remember Piyush for all good things. I will soon go to Indore to meet his family.

Shubhangi told the reason for leaving her husband

Shubhangi said, our daughter Ashi is studying in America. As soon as his exams will end. We both will go to his house together. It is very easy for people to judge the whole story without knowing. They believe that I left him (Piyush) due to my success, but it is not true.

The actress said, the real reason for our separation was the battle of years. I did not leave them because I succeeded, but I left because his alcohol addiction affected our lives very badly. I tried my best to save my marriage, but then there came a time when nothing left in my control. Sending them to the rehab also had no effect. Alcohol addiction ruined him.

Actress was in touch with ex -husband

Shubhangi said that she was in constant contact with Piyush. He had talked to him two days before his death and also prayed for his recovery. Shubhangi Atre and Piyush married in the year 2003. Both were living separately since 2022.
