During Wang Yi’s visit, India and China will discuss new measures for permanent peace and stability on the disputed border. This visit of Wang Yi is also important because Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit China later this month. The visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister is being seen as part of the ongoing efforts to rebuild their relations by both neighbors. At the meeting, PM Modi also underlined the importance of disposing of differences and disputes properly, maintaining peace and stability in the border areas. He had said that mutual trust, respect and sensitivity of each other should remain the basis of relationships. At the same time, Xi had said that China-India relations depend on how the two big developing countries treat each other. He had said that China and India should maintain good perception towards each other. The two countries should work together.

Relationships deteriorated after the fly

Let me tell you that after the military clashes in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, relations between India and China reached a lower level. The clash was the most horrific military clash between the two sides in the last few decades. After this clash, India and China agreed to start patrolling, including removal of soldiers from other places in East Ladakh. The agreement was seen as a major success towards resolving military deadlock in eastern Ladakh for almost four years.

Russia has also indicated

Recently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also made a big statement about the relations between India and China. Lavarov had hoped that Russia-India-China trilateral dialogue would start soon, citing signs of improvement in relations between India and China. Lavrov also said that so far this group has held more than 20 ministerial meetings not only at the level of foreign ministers, but also at the level of other economic, trade and financial agencies of the three countries.
