Direct message to Pak from Operation Sindoor: Army Chief
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said on Saturday that the surgical strike conducted during Operation Sindoor was a direct message to Pakistan that supporters of terrorism would not be spared.
Operation Sindoor Pahalgam was also a response to the terrorist attack, which gave a deep wound to the entire country. This time India not only expressed grief over the accident, but also gave a befitting reply.
General Dwivedi said these things in a program organized on Kargil Victory Day in Dras, Ladakh. He said- replying to the enemy is now new normal.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also reached the National War Memorial in Delhi on the completion of 26 years of Kargil Vijay Day. The three army chiefs were also present with him. Rajnath paid tribute to the martyred soldiers.
After Pakistan’s infiltration on 5 May 1999, there was a war between India and Pakistan on the hill peaks of Kargil. The war lasted for about 84 days. The war ended by India’s victory on 26 July 1999. In this, Kargil Victory Day is celebrated every year on 26 July, remembering the sacrifice and valor of Indian soldiers.
Defense Minister wrote- India will always be grateful to martyrs
On Kargil Victory Day, I pay tribute to the heroes who showed extraordinary courage, patience and determination in protecting the honor of the country even in difficult circumstances. His highest sacrifice during the Kargil War gives a long reminiscent of the unwavering resolve of our armed forces. India will always be indebted to his service.
India fought Kargil war by running Operation Vijay
The battle of Kargil began when Pakistani soldiers quietly captured the high hills of Kargil and made their hideouts. On 8 May 1999, about 12 soldiers from Pakistan were captured by Kargil’s Azam Chowki.
Initially it was described as an attack by intruders, but later it became clear that it included the Pakistani army. These Pakistani soldiers were seen by an Indian shepherd. The shepherd informed the Indian Army soldiers about the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers. In this way, India came to know about the infiltration for the first time.
Earlier India was understanding that only a few terrorists have occupied the valley of Kashmir, so India sent only a few soldiers to chase them. When the Indian Army was retaliated with different peaks, it was revealed that it was part of a major conspiracy.
Immediately Indian Defense Minister George Fernandes canceled his Russia tour. After this, Operation Vijay was launched. Pak soldiers were sitting on the high hills, due to which Indian soldiers faced a lot of difficulties.
