Divorce was not because of Shabana: Honey Irani broke silence on divorce from Javed Akhtar

Script writer and director Honey Irani spoke to Javed Akhtar on his divorce in Filmfare’s interview show ‘In the Ring With Filmfare’, saying that it did not happen due to Shabana Azmi. He told, “I was angry, but never dramatic. We realized that our relationship is not working.”

Debut made only at the age of two and a half years

Honey told that she was only two and a half years old when she worked in the film ‘Ek Gram Ka Kahani’. He was hated to go to the set and laddus and Gulab Jamuns were given to entertain him. He said, “I used to cry on seeing the gate of the studio.”

Stage shows done with Rafi Saheb and Kishore Kumar

Honey revealed that he did several shows with Rafi Saheb, Kishore Kumar. While narrating an anecdote, he said, “At the airport in Mauritius, Kishore Dada joked with the bearded people and caught his beard falling from the excuse. He was very cool.”

Start of love with Javed Akhtar

Honey said that his relationship with Javed Akhtar started during ‘Sita and Geeta’. “One day he jokingly told me – ‘You are lucky for me, I should marry you.’ We were dating for 7-8 months. ”

Life as a single mother

Honey said that after separating from Javed, he raised the children alone. He said, “I am confident that Javed will never do anything to harm children. Even today we have respect and understanding.”

Rekha taught the importance of work

Honey told that when she was assistant on the set, Rekha interrupted her a lot. Sometimes complained of slippers, sometimes dot and sometimes food. One day when Honey asked why she is doing this, Rekha said, “I am making you a better assistant, my darling.”

Today’s life – books, kitchens and relaxed

Honey said that she has written books of two children, prepared a web series and is working on some scripts. She is now making a new dish, playing cards with friends and enjoying healthy lifestyle.
