Do not hurry to go home: Jammu and Kashmir Police
After a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the situation is becoming normal in the states adjacent to the border on Sunday. People taking shelter at safe places in Jammu and Kashmir have started returning to their homes in villages. However, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has appealed to the people not to return home in a hurry.
Police issued advisory saying- ammunition may be scattered after the Pakistani attack in the border villages. This can threaten people. Bomb disposal squads will be sent to sanitize the affected areas, so that there is no damage.
India ran Operation Sindoor on 7 April to avenge the death of 26 people in the Pahalgam attack on 22 April. Under this, nine terrorist bases were attacked in Pakistan. Pakistan also retaliated, killing 25 people. More than 1.25 lakh people were transported to safe places from the villages close to LoC.
Due to Pakistani attacks, 32 airports in 9 states are closed for the third consecutive day. No decision has been taken to open airports. The Civil Aviation Ministry had said that the order to close the airports would be applicable from May 9 to May 15 at 5.29 am.
