Aviation regulator The DGCA on Wednesday asked all the airline companies of the country to increase the number of flights from Srinagar, so that the return of tourists can be quick and easier after the Pahalgam terror attack. In addition, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also asked the airline companies to consider waiving cancellation and recycling fees for flight tickets to Srinagar. Instructions to increase flight for all connected destinations in the country

Most of those killed in the terrorist attack on Tuesday were tourists from other states. The DGCA issued an advisory on Wednesday, saying that after the attack in Pahalgam, the demand from tourists wishing to return home has increased unexpectedly. The aviation regulator said, “In this case, airline companies are advised to take action as soon as possible to increase the number of flights in response to the increasing demand and at the same time ensure uninterrupted contacts from Srinagar to different destinations across the country, so that the trapped tourists are facilitated to remove.”

‘Airline companies do not increase flight ticket fare’

The DGCA said that airline companies have also been asked to provide all the necessary help to tourists facing unexpected situations and challenges in this difficult time. Let us tell you that Tata Group’s Air India and IndiGo are operating extra flights from Srinagar to different parts of the country on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Ministry has asked the airline companies to ensure that there is no increase in flight ticket fare on Srinagar route.
