New Delhi: Naxal violence victims on Friday made a passionate appeal to all MPs of Parliament that they were Vice Presidential candidate of Opposition B.K. Do not support Sudarshan Reddy. Under the banner of Bastar Peace Committee i.e. BSS, these people held a press conference in Delhi and alleged that Reddy weakened their battle against the Naxalites by ordering to abolish Salwa Judum while being a Supreme Court judge, which destroyed their lives.

Naxalite became powerful due to ban on Salwa Judum

Bastar Shanti Samiti convenor Jairam said, ‘When Salwa Judum got strength, the Naxalites had become so weak that they were going to end. But Reddy Saheb’s Supreme Court’s decision gave courage to the Naxalites again. This made Naxalism a cancer. He said that under Salwa Judum, the Chhattisgarh government had opened a front against the Naxalites by making tribal youth a special police officer. But in 2011, the Supreme Court bench, including Justice Reddy, had ordered it to be immediately closed and snatched the weapon, calling it illegal and unconstitutional.

Naxalites killed my son: Shairam

Shairam Ramtek, a villager from Bastar, told with a sad heart, “If Reddy had not supported the Naxalites, my son would have been alive today.” Shahiram’s son was a farmer, who was allegedly abducted and killed by Naxalites. Another victim Kedarnath Kashyap said that Naxalites brutally killed his younger brother, who was a police constable. He said with moisture in his eyes, ‘Naxalites tortured my brother and then brutally murdered him. If Salwa Judum was not banned, by 2014, the Naxalites would have run away from our area and my brother would have been with me today.

Violence of Naxalites snatched the beauty of life

The victims said that Naxal violence destroyed their lives. Somebody’s foot flew into a landmine, that is, IED blast, someone’s eyesight went away, someone’s spine broke, and someone was crippled forever. He said, ‘The person who ordered the end of Salwa Judum has now been made the candidate for the post of Vice President. It is like sprinkling salt on our wounds. ‘
