Gavaskar said, “Mohammad Siraj proved the workload thinking forever. In 5 Test matches, he threw a spell of 7-8 consecutive overs, because the captain needed him and the country expected him. Workload is not a physical thing, this is the thinking sitting in the mind. If you get into it, you will never be able to field the best teams for your country.”
He further said, “When you are playing for the country, forget the pain and suffering. Do you complain of cold on the border? Give everything for the country in cricket too. Look at Rishabh Pant, despite being fractured in the fourth Test, descended to batting. This is the spirit. This is the spirit. It is a matter of honor to play cricket for India, you are representing 140 million people, as we are representing 140 million people.
