Donald Trump refused to talk business talks with India, the tariff controversy
India-Rus Trade Deal: The ongoing tariff dispute between India and America is deepening. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has said that there will be no trade talks with India in current circumstances. During a press conference at the White House on Thursday, ANI asked Trump whether they expect to move forward after the announcement of imposing 50 percent tariff on India? Donald Trump said in response to this question- no. Trump said, “The business talks between India and the US will not proceed until we solve it.”
America imposed 50 percent tariff on India
Let us tell you that on July 30 last month, Donald Trump had announced a 25 percent tariff on India. Along with this, he had said that India buys a large amount of crude oil and military equipment from Russia, for which India will be fined separately. After which, Trump announced an additional 25 percent tariff on India to trade with Russia on 6 August. After which the total tariff imposed by the US on India increased to 50 percent. Donald Trump has also talked about imposing secondary selection on India.
PM Modi’s strict message on Donald Trump’s action
After the US imposed 50 percent tariff on India, PM Modi said that India will not compromise with the interests of its farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an event held in Delhi on Thursday that the interest of farmers is India’s top priority. The PM said that India will never compromise on the interests of farmers, fishermen and people associated with the dairy sector. PM Modi said in the conference, “If I have to pay a price to protect the interests of farmers, I am ready for it.”
India will not bow in front of America
Let us tell you that the US has been demanding to enter India’s agriculture and dairy sector since the beginning of business talks. But India had already told the US in clear terms that they would not compromise for agriculture and dairy sectors. India had already made the US clear that it would not give them any concession in agriculture and dairy sector.
