However, Trump on Friday announced the closure of trade talks with Canada, calling the Canadian decision a direct and clear attack on the US.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said that the trade talks with the US have been restored after his plan to tax taxes on American tech companies. US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was suspending business talks with Canadian American tech companies until it continues tax. The Canadian government said that the Canada is canceling the Digital Services Tax with the expectation of the trade agreement.

Carney and Trump agreed to re -talk

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Carney and Trump have agreed to resume talks. Carney said in a statement, “This announcement will help in launching this dialogue under the time of July 21, 2025. The deadline was set at the summit of G7 leaders this month. ”Carney met Trump in May at the official residence and office White House in the US in May. After this, Trump came to Canada for the G7 Summit. During this, Carney had said that Canada and the US have set a 30 -day time limit for business talks.

Discussion on relaxation of heavy tariffs

Canada and America are discussing the relaxation of the huge tariffs imposed by Trump on the goods coming from the neighboring country of America. Trump has imposed 50 percent tariff on steel and aluminum. He has also announced 25 percent tariff on motor vehicle and its parts. The basic fee of 10 percent has also been imposed on imports from most countries. However, the new tax hike was postponed by the US for 90 days. This period is ending on 9 July, after which the US can increase the tariff.
