Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has given a strong warning to Pakistan regarding national security and military preparations. He said on Tuesday that one should not forget to consider India’s peace loving attitude as weakness. He said at the ‘Ran Dialogue’ conference, “We are a peace -beloved nation, but do not live in this misunderstanding, we cannot be a pacifist. Peace without power is a fantasy.” He further said, “If you want peace, be ready for war.” Giving an indirect warning to Pakistan, the CDS announced that India’s military reaction, Operation Sindoor, is still on after the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack.
Operation vermilion is still going on
Giving brief information about Operation Sindoor, CDS General Anil Chauhan said that this operation provided important insight about modern struggles. He said, “Operation Sindoor was a modern struggle from which we learned many lessons, the operation is still going on.”
In his address, General Anil Chauhan identified four major trends, which she believes that she will define future struggles-
- Increase in force use: Nation is becoming increasingly keen to use military power in short -term struggles to achieve political goals.
- The blurring of war and peace: The traditional differences between the war and peacekal have disappeared, making it a continuous cycle of “competition, crisis, conflict, conflict and war”.
- Public role: While earlier there were about the war zone or ideology, the value and participation of the public in future wars should be more seriously considered.
- Regarding victory: Vijay is no longer measured by the number of casualties, but by operating speed, accuracy and strategic effects.
What else did CDS say?
