Sharing information with its official X handle, the Department of Telecommunications said that mobile users can now easily change their number from prepaid to postpaid or postpaid to prepaid. Now they will not have to wait for 90 days long. Under the new rule, users will now be able to replace their mobile number from prepaid or postpaid to prepaid within just 30 days. For this, users will have to go to the outlet of their telecom service providers and get OTP based KYC done.
Changes in order of 2021
DOT said in its notification that it has been decided to change the OTP based order changing the mobile number from the prepaid or postpaid from the prepaid issued on 21 September 2021. Making partial changes in this order, it has been decided to make the cooling of periods 30 days instead of 90 days for mobile connections. Users will no longer have to wait long to postpad their number from prepaid or to convert from postpaid to prepaid.
Users will have to get OTP Aadhaar KYC verification done to replace your number from prepaid or postpaid to prepaid. For this, they can visit the close outlets of service providers. The implementation of this new rule will benefit millions of mobile users who want to convert their connection from prepaid or postpaid to prepaid. If users do not like any service, then they will not have to wait for 90 days for this. They can get their connection modified only after 30 days.
