On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Delhi reached 42.1 degrees Celsius, which is 2.1 degrees above the seasonal average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.7 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, the city is expected to have strong winds on Monday and the maximum temperature is expected to be around 43 ° C and the minimum 28 ° C.

The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR on Sunday remained between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius. Safdarjung Monitoring Station recorded a maximum temperature of 42.1 degrees Celsius, 43.6 in Palam, 42.3 in Lodi Road, 42.9 in Ridge, while in Ayanagar, the maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 44.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday. However, the situation of heat stroke in the region has not been recorded, the temperature has declined around 3 degrees Celsius. The IMD said that the heat and humidity situation is likely to continue till June 12. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality of Delhi was recorded in the ‘medium’ category at 6 pm on Sunday, with the air quality index (AQI) 198.

Sriganganagar of Rajasthan is the hottest

On June 8, Sriganganagar in Rajasthan was the hottest city. The temperature was recorded at 47.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature in cities like Bikaner and Barmer was also more than 45 degrees. Rohtak in Haryana, Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, Naugaon in Madhya Pradesh and Ayyanagar in Delhi were the hottest areas. Mercury was recorded beyond 45 degrees in six cities of Rajasthan.
