New Delhi, 18 October (Hindustan Reporter). The Enforcement Directorate has taken major action against the banned Islamic organization Popular Front of India (PFI) across the country. The Central Investigation Agency has seized a total of 35 immovable properties of PFI worth Rs 56.56 crore. ED had registered a money laundering case against PFI on the basis of cases registered by Delhi Police and NIA.

The ED, in a statement issued on Friday, said it seized 19 immovable properties totaling Rs 35.43 crore owned and controlled by PFI in the name of several trusts, companies and individuals under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 Is. The agency said it has seized immovable properties worth a total of Rs 61.72 crore as part of its investigation.

The central probe agency said 19 immovable properties worth Rs 35.43 crore were seized on October 16, 2024, and 16 immovable properties worth Rs 21.13 crore on April 16, 2024 (total 35 immovable properties worth Rs 56.56 crore). The ED said the action has been taken under the provisions of PMLA, 2002 in the case of PFI and others which are owned and controlled by the Popular Front of India in the name of various trusts, companies and individuals. The agency has so far seized assets worth Rs 61.72 crore in this case.
