ED tightened up on 29 film stars and social media influencers
Vijay Devarakonda and Rana Daggubati.
ED has taken major action against Telangana’s 29 well-known film actors, YouTubers and Instagram Influencers. All of them are accused of promoting illegal betting apps. The list includes Tollywood’s big names like Vijay Devarakonda, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Manchu Laxmi, Nidhi Aggarwal, Pranita Subhash, Ananya Nagalla, Anchor Shrimukhi, YouTube Harsha Sai, Bayya Sunny Yadav and Local Boy Nani.
Controversy emerged in March
The case started with the complaint of Fanindra Sharma, a businessman from Miyapur. He alleged that many big film faces and social media stars are drawing people towards these betting apps. He informed that middle class and lower middle class familys are suffering a lot due to such apps. Following this complaint, the Sibrabad police registered an FIR against 25 celebrities on 19 March 2025 and initiated action. The ED has later participated in the investigation of the case.
Inquiries are being done in this case
ED has registered ECIR (FIR) under PMLA in this case and has taken this case in its hand. ED is now interrogating all these stars and influencers of how much money they have promoted, how the payment was received and what is tax details. Investigation has revealed that a transaction of thousands of crores has been done through these apps. These apps lure the youth to earn money quickly, but later people break up financially and mentally.
A similar case was also revealed earlier
Let me tell you, last year also the case of Mahadev Betting App came to light. In that case too, many Bollywood, Tollywood and TV stars were named. Rapid action was taken in that case. Now ED is also taking action in this matter. After interrogation and investigation, it will be clear how big a scam it is.
