Election official arrested in Deoghar, Jharkhand, accused of supporting the candidate

Anil/Ranchi. The second and final phase of voting is going on in Jharkhand today. During this time, a dispute has come to light on Madhupur assembly seat of Deoghar district of the state. Here, on the instructions of Deoghar District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar, the presiding officer of booth number – 111 of 13-Madhupur assembly constituency has been arrested. A new officer has been posted in his place.

According to the information received, while monitoring the situation in the web-casting room, it was found that the presiding officer was found close to the voting compartment, which is against the rules of the Election Commission and shows gross negligence in the discharge of duties. In such a situation, the concerned election officer has been instructed to conduct necessary investigation and take legal action. On this matter, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey alleged that voting was being conducted in favor of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha candidate Hafeezul Hasan in booth number 111 of Madhupur Assembly. The presiding officer has been arrested.

He said that he had complained to the Election Commission regarding voting irregularities in booth numbers – 111 and 112 of Madhupur assembly constituency. Which was taken seriously by the Commission and action was taken against the presiding officer. CCTV cameras were installed at the booth, the Commission examined the footage and then took action. He claimed that the presiding officer has not been removed. Rather he has been arrested.
