Science News Desk – American billionaire businessman Elon Musk’s company SpaceX launched 20 Starlink satellites simultaneously. The Falcon 9 rocket went into space carrying these satellites on Friday. Of the satellites sent into space, 13 have the potential for direct sale. The rocket launched from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 7:31 p.m.
Falcon 9 launched the Starlink satellite into low Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. In footage shared by SpaceX, after liftoff, the Falcon 9 first stage returned to Earth about 8.5 minutes after landing on the SpaceX drone ship “Just Read the Instructions” in the Atlantic Ocean. A split at the end of the video is covered with water droplets due to the location, but the landing can be seen clearly from another angle.

This was the 17th successful flight of a first stage booster supporting this mission, preceded by O3b mPOWER, OneWeb 2, Intelsat 40e, Maxar 2, Turksat-6A, Eutelsat 36X, Ovzon-3, CRS-26 and now nine Starlink missions. Have been launched. In 2024, SpaceX is actively expanding its Starlink constellation, with a significant portion of its launches devoted to this effort. Of the 96 Falcon 9 missions the company has conducted this year, about 64 have focused on deploying Starlink satellites into orbit.
What is Starlink?
Starlink is a constellation of thousands of satellites that orbit very close to the Earth at a distance of about 550 km and cover the entire globe. Starlink satellites are in lower orbit than other geostationary satellites, making it much easier to provide fast Internet connectivity.
