England’s big shock, this star fast bowlers out of ODI series against West Indies
England fast bowler Gus Atkinson, who was injured in the Test against Zimbabwe, will not be able to play in the ODI series against the West Indies. He has had a stretch problem in hamstring, after which the team management has decided to relax them, not taking any risk.
The England team suffered a major setback against the West Indies just before the ODI series. Fast bowler Gus Atkinson is out of the series due to Hamstring injury. Atkinson was clearly uncomfortable while bowling on the last day of the Trent Bridge Test against Zimbabwe. He threw only three overs that day and could not even bowl at full speed due to pain.
However, England Management says that this injury is not very serious and they will be available in the next Test series against India. But at the moment, it has been decided to relax them, not taking any risk.
In the absence of Etkinson, England have options like Bridan Cars, Saqib Mahmood, Jamie Overton, Matthew Pots and Luke Wood. ECB has made it clear that no new player will be included in the team at the moment.
