Entry will be available in railway station after weighing goods, airport -like rules will start soon

Indian Railways is now going to implement luggage rules like airline companies. As per the proposed rules, passengers will have to weigh their belongings with electronic machines at major railway stations. Passengers will no longer be able to travel in the train with luggage above the fixed limit. If a passenger travels with more goods than the limit, then he will have to pay an extra charge. This rule of railway will provide facilities to passengers traveling with less goods, on the other hand, people traveling with more goods will have problems.
Limit will be different for different classes
According to the rules of Indian Railways, the capacity of luggage for different classes of trains has been fixed separately. In First Class AC, a maximum of 70 kg with one seat, maximum 50 kg in second class AC and third class in third class and maximum 40 kg in sleeper class can be traveled. Apart from this, it is allowed to carry up to 35 kg of goods for general class passengers. According to the rules, even a large size bag that surrounds the train, can be fined, no matter how much their weight.
New rule will start from these stations
“The move is to ensure a more efficient and comfortable travel experience for passengers, especially on a long distance route,” told TOI, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) of Prayagraj division under North Central Railway. Initially it will start from major stations of North Central Railway like Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj Chivki, Subedarganj, Kanpur Central, Mirzapur, Tundla, Aligarh Junction, Govindpuri and Etawah. Shukla said that the goods of the passengers will be weighed at these stations and they will be allowed to enter the station only when they are within the fixed limit.
