EPFO added 14.58 lakh members in March, the highest number of employees of this age join
The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) said in its latest payroll data released on Wednesday that the EPFO added 14.58 lakh pure members during March 2025, which records a growth of 1.15 percent in the same period last year. According to PTI news, the Ministry of Labor said that the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) nominated around 7. 54 lakh new customers in March 2025, showing a 2.03 percent increase compared to February 2025 and an annual increase of 0.98 percent compared to March 2024.
The number of members of this age is the highest
On releasing provisional payroll data for March 2025, EPFO said that this increase in the number of new customers (members) is due to increasing employment opportunities, increasing awareness about employee benefits and successful outreach programs of EPFO. According to the report, 4. 45 lakh new customers were added to the age group of 18-25, which is 58.94 percent of the total new customers added in March 2025. New customers in the 18-25 age group added in this month show an increase of 4.21 percent compared to February 2025 last month. It also shows an increase of 4.73 percent in March 2024 as compared to the previous year.
13.23 lakh members who have gone out join again
According to the data, around 13.3 million members, who were out earlier, re-joined the EPFO in March 2025, an increase of 0.39 percent compared to February 2025 and 12.17 percent year-long growth compared to March 2024. These members changed their jobs and joined the establishments under the purview of EPFO and opted to transfer their deposits instead of applying.
2.08 lakh new women customers involved
In March 2025, around 2.08 lakh new women customers joined EPFOs. This reflects an increase of 0.18 percent compared to the previous month of February 2025. It has also shown an increase of 4. 18 percent year after year, it has been said. In addition, pure female payroll growth during the month under review stood at 2.92 lakhs, with an increase of 0.78 percent year-on-year, indicating widespread changes towards more inclusive and diverse workforce.
These states had a leading participation
The state -wise analysis of payroll data shows that the top five states/union territories make about 59.67 percent of the net payroll growth, adding about 8.70 million pure parole during the month. Out of all the states, Maharashtra has topped this list. Pure parole has increased by 20.24 percent during this month. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana states/union territories have personally increased the total pure parole by more than 5 percent during the month.
