EPFO issued warning for crores of members, know how your pocket is being cut
EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) Warned its members on Monday and instructed to keep distance from third party agents. The EPFO has advised the members to use the online platform for service related to their PF accounts, so that the extremely important and confidential information related to the account does not require to share with any other person and can avoid any kind of risk and fraud. The Labor Ministry said in a statement that the EPFO has made several improvements to make services faster, transparent and easy for all its parties. The EPFO has more than 7 crore members who are employees or former employees of different private and government companies.
How to cut pocket pockets third party agent
According to the statement, it has been found that many cyber cafe operators or fintech companies are charging a large amount from EPFO members for the service which are officially free. In many cases, these operators only use the online complaint platform of EPFO, which any member can automatically use for free. It states that the concerned parties are warned to go to third party companies or agents for services related to EPFO as it may make their financial data public. Also, these external institutions are not authorized by EPFOs.
EPFO has strong grievance redressal system
According to the statement of the Ministry of Labor, the EPFO has a strong complaint monitoring and redressal system, in which the complaints of the members are registered on the CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Settlement and Monitoring System) or EPFIGMS (EPFIGMS (EPFI Complaint Management System) platform and are monitored in a timely manner. In FY 2024-25, a total of 16,01,202 complaints were received at EPFIGMS and 1,74,328 complaints in CPGRAMS. Of these, 98 percent of the complaints were resolved within the time limit.
