Brussels: The European Union (EU) leaders appealed to US President Donald Trump on Tuesday to protect his security interests in an important meeting on war in Ukraine with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin this week. European countries want to ensure their role in the meeting to be held this Friday, but they are excluded from this meeting. It is also not clear yet whether Ukraine will join it or not.
Trump has said this
US President Donald Trump has said that he wants to see whether Putin is serious about ending the war. This war has now entered the fourth year. However, Trump has disappointed American colleagues in Europe, saying that Ukraine will have to give up some of Russia -occupied areas. He also said that Russia will also have to accept land exchange.
European Union is afraid of this
The European Union and Ukraine fears that Putin, the largest land war in Europe since 1945, should not achieve favorable concessions and do not set the outline of the peace agreement without the participation of Ukraine or Europe. The European Union leaders said in a statement on Tuesday, “We welcome President Trump’s efforts to end Russia’s attack on Ukraine, but the path of peace in Ukraine cannot be decided without including Ukraine.” He stressed that “permanent and fair peace, freedom, sovereignty, sovereignty, sovereignty, regional integrity and boundaries follow the principles of forceding the principles of changing the principles.
Jailonsky has made the stand clear
