The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have announced the names of ‘Class of 2025’. Actor Kamal Haasan, Ayushmann Khurrana and Cannes Grand Prix-Film Maker Payal Kapadia are among the 534 artists and officials invited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) this year. Los Angeles -based Academy, which holds the Oscar Award, announced the ‘Oscar Class of 2025’ on Thursday night. While Kamal Haasan (Vikram, Nayakan) and Ayushmann Khurrana (Article 15, Andhadhun) have been invited to join the actors branch, Payal Kapadia (All V Imagine Az Light, Cannes Grand Prix 2024 winner: A Night of Noing Nathing) has been received by the Winner Branch.

Academy CEO Bill Cramer and Academy President Janet Yang said, ‘We are thrilled to invite this prestigious class of artists, producers and professionals to join the academy. Through their commitment to film production and comprehensive film industry, these extraordinary talented persons have contributed indelible to our global film production community. According to the official website of the academy, the membership process for its 19 branches and a membership classification is conducted by sponsorship and not by application.

The 2025 Academy Award winners Mickey Madison, Keran Kalkin and Lol Croly and enrolled Ariana Grande, Sebastian Stan and Brandy Carlile have been invited to become members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Also, others have been invited, including the current Oscar host Connon O’Brien, his predecessor Jimmy Kimmeen and his concerned manufacturer Nonon’s top official Tom Quin, Mubi’s Jason Ropel, Sony’s Ravi Ahuja and Disney’s Shannan Ryan.
