Factory license will be considered as property tax receipt of MCD, corporation passed
Delhi There has been a very good news for people running the factory on Thursday. Factory owners in the notified industrial areas of the capital will no longer need to get a separate license from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Under the new MCD rules, the property tax receipt of factory owners will be considered as a valid factory license. The MCD passed a resolution on Thursday, under which the enterprise registration certificates of the Ministry of Delhi and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Majhola Enterprises (MSME) will be considered as ‘factory licenses’ under Section 416 and 417 of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Act, 1957.
Five percent of the annual property tax will have to be paid as license fees
The proposal passed in the general meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi with the objective of promoting business ease in the country’s capital Delhi has ended the requirement of factory license issued by MCD in industrial areas notified by Delhi Government or Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DSIIDC). Factory owners who are trading in these industrial areas will now pay five percent of their annual property tax as license fees. There will be evidence of both the same receipt, property tax payment and factory license.
Factory owners will get rid of recovery of officers
This step of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will end the repeated inspection round for factories and the scope of recovery by the authorities will almost end. Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh said that the new system would reduce unnecessary inspections by MCD officials. This is definitely a great relief news for Delhi factory owners, as this will end the frequent inspection mess for the factory owners. Along with this, recovery in the name of inspection will also get rid of.
