Famous Assamese singer Gayatri Hazarika died on Friday at the age of 44 at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati, Assam. Singer was suffering from colon cancer. There is a wave of mourning in the music world due to the news of his death. She was famous for her song ‘Jora Pate Paate Phagun Name’. Gayatri has also lent his voice to ‘Tumi Kun Birohi Ananya’, ‘Junk Nasil Bonot’, ‘Zeuji Expon’ and other popular songs.
