A sad news has come out from the South Industry. Famous Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao has passed away. He breathed his last at his home in Jubilee Hillth, Hyderabad at the age of 83. He was ill for a long time. Kota Srinivas celebrated his birthday three days ago.
The entire South film industry has suffered a major setback with the death of Kota Srinivas. He was struggling with age related diseases for the last few days. He breathed his last on Sunday morning. Born on July 10, 1942 in Kankipadu in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Kota Srinivasa Rao entered the world of films with the film ‘Pranam Kharidhu’ in 1978. He was well liked in negative characters. He also won several awards in his career. Apart from Villain, Kota Srinivas also played a lot of comedy and positive characters.
Kota Srinivasa Rao worked in more than 750 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi in his four -decade long career. He was awarded the Padma Shri Award in 2015 for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Apart from acting, Kota Srinivas Rao was also active in politics. He contested the assembly elections from BJP ticket from Vijayawada East in 1999 and also won. After this, he was an MLA from this seat in 2004 as well. Kota used to work in Srinivas Bank before appearing in films.
