Changes in online Tatkal Ticket Booking System

Indian Railways is changing the rules for rigging in online Tatkal ticket booking. From July 1, Aadhaar authentication will be mandatory for online Tatkal ticket booking. Passengers who book tickets online from IRCTC’s mobile app and website will have to authenticate their IRCTC account with Aadhaar. After the implementation of the new rules, Tatkal tickets can be booked only from those accounts, which will be Aadhaar-verified.

There has been a lot of struggle for offline Tatkal tickets along with the hurdles of online Tatkal tickets. In such a situation, the rules are also changing for the Tatkal ticket to be booked from the railway counter. Under the new rules being implemented from July 15, OTP authentication will be required to book Tatkal tickets from the railway counter. From July 15, when you go to book Tatkal tickets from the railway counter, then an OTP will come on your phone number. Your ticket will be booked only after feeding the OTP on your mobile on the system.

Train fare will increase from July 1

Ticket prices are going to increase from July 1. However, this increase will not have much effect. After the increase in fares, 2 paise extra will be charged for traveling in AC class every km. Similarly, 1 paise extra will be charged every km for sleeper class. There is no increase in the fare of the journey less than 500 km for General Class and MST. If, traveling more than 500 km from General Class and MST, then 0.50 paise will have to be charged for each km.
