Excel Entertainment’s ‘120 brave’ is bringing a very powerful but forgotten story on the big screen in the history of the Indian Army. Set in Ladakh’s snowy litigants, the film is the story of 120 Kumaon Regiment, who stands in Rejang La during the 1962 Indo-China War, which despite being surrounded by all around, took over without back.
At the center of this story is PVC Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a calm but determined warrior, who despite knowing that the situation is against him. On 18 November 1962, these 120 soldiers faced more than a thousand enemy soldiers. He fought with his unwavering dedication for courage, spirit and duty.
After about three months, when a search party reached there, the bodies of these soldiers were found. Almost all 120 soldiers had been martyred, holding a rifle in their hands, stinging on their position, turning to the enemy.
This is the story that the Indian Army remembers every year. Every November, these brave soldiers are saluted on the Rezang La War Memorial located near Chushul. But very few people outside the scope of the army really understand the depth of this day and the sacrifice which was given there.
The silence is now breaking through 120 brave. This is not just the story of Jung, but an unwavering emotion, untold bravery and the story of such sacrifice that needs to be remembered. The film is directed by Rajneesh ‘Reiji’ Ghai and it is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Axle Entertainment) and Amit Chandra (Trigger Happy Studios). Axle Entertainment’s 120 brave cinemas are releasing on 21 November 2025.
