As a villain, the evergreen actor Vinod Khanna, who reached the heights of fame in the film industry as a hero, made his indelible impression among the audience with his acting. Vinod Khanna was born on 6 October 1946 in Peshawar, Pakistan.

After the birth of Vinod, India and Pakistan were partitioned, after which his family shifted to Mumbai. Vinod Khanna died on 27 April 2017 due to blood cancer. Vinod Khanna was a superstar of his time. He acted in many superhit films.

Vinod Khanna got an opportunity to meet producer-director Sunil Dutt during a party during graduation. Sunil Dutt was looking for new faces for his film ‘Man Ka Meet’ in those days. He offered Vinod to work as a tolerant in the film, which Vinod gladly accepted.

On reaching home, Vinod also had to hear a lot of scolding from his father. When Vinod asked his father about working in the film, his father pointed a gun at him and said, “If you go to the films, I will shoot you.” Later, after Vinod’s mother’s persuasion, his father allowed Vinod to work in films for two years and said that if the film is not successful in the industry, then the business of the house will have to be shared.

The film Mana Ka Meet, released in the year 1968, was unsuccessful, but Vinod got a place in the films. On Milo Sajna, Mera Village Mera Desh, Sacha Hing, there was an opportunity to play the roles of villains, but despite the success of these films, Vinod Khanna did not get any special benefit. Vinod got his initial success from Gulzar’s film Mere Apne.

It will be called just a coincidence that Gulzar started his career as a director. Meena Kumari also played an important role in this film based on student politics. The film was worth seeing in the film. In 1973, Vinod Khanna once again got an opportunity to work in director Gulzar’s film ‘Sudden’. In 1974, the film Imtihaan Vinod proved to be another superhit film of Vinod’s cine career.

The film ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, released in 1977, proved to be the most successful film of Vinod’s cine career. Directed by Manmohan Desai, the film was based on ‘Khoya Pa’ formula. Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor also played an important role in this multistarrer film based on the life of three brothers.

The film ‘Kurbani’ released in 1980 proved to be another superhit film of Vinod Khanna’s career. In the film, produced and directed by Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna nominated his strong acting Best Actor’s Filmfare Award.

In the eighties, Vinod reached the Bulandio of fame and it seemed that superstar Amitabh Bachchan could take Vinod from his throne but Vinod said goodbye to the film industry and took refuge in the ashram of Acharya Rajneesh.

In 1987, Vinod Khanna once again turned to the film industry through the film “Insaaf”. The film “Dayawan”, released in 1988, is one of the important films of Vinod’s career. Although the film was not successful at the ticket window, the reviewers believe that this film is one of Vinod Khanna’s outstanding films.

After playing many roles in films, Vinod Khanna entered the year 1997 politics for social service and became a member of Lok Sabha in 1998 in collaboration with the Bharatiya Janata Party and became a Lok Sabha member. Later he also worked as Union Minister of State.

In 1997, Vinod Khanna produced the film Himalaya son to establish his son Akshaye Khanna in the film industry. Keeping in mind the choice of the audience, Vinod Khanna also turned to the small screen and showed his acting in serials like Maharana Pratap and Mere Apne. Vinod Khanna has acted in about 150 films in his four -decade long cine career. Vinod Khanna, who mesmerized the audience with his strong acting, said goodbye on 27 April 2017.
