Father wanted to kill Ravi Kishan, left home at the age of 17
Ravi Kishan has shown his acting from Bhojpuri to Bollywood. He was recently seen in Kiran Rao’s film ‘Laady Ladiz’. In this film, he played the role of a police officer. Ravi was highly appreciated for this character.
Recently, Ravi Kishan spoke about his troubled relationship with his father. Ravi Kishan had told that the father was against his becoming an actor. He also alleged that his father wanted to kill him.
During an interview, Ravi Kishan told, when he started performing in Ramlila in the neighborhood, his father was surprised. He often punished him for this. The discord increased to such an extent that Ravi had to leave home at the age of 17 due to his father’s anger and physical abuse.
Ravi Kishan had said, my father was beating me very badly and he was killing me with a hammer. He wanted to kill me and my mother knew that her husband could kill me and he would not hesitate at all because the feelings of the priests are negligible. So he said, run away.
He had said, he was a priest and as a Brahmin, he always wanted me to do farming or become a priest or do a government job. He never thought that an artist could be born in his family. So it was a bit shocking for her to dance in Ramlila or play Sita.
Ravi had told that he ran away with only 500 rupees in his pocket and boarded the train for Mumbai. Ravi Kishan also told that his family was very happy with him over time, because his career in acting gave him a lot of money.
Ravi Kishan had said, although now I believe his father was right. I was clear from childhood that I do not want death without recognition. Everyone is born with a reason and I have made me ‘Ravi Kishan’.
