Female MP alleged- I received threats of rape and murder, written on social media
Biju Janata Dal MP Sulata Dev of Odisha
Bhubaneswar: A shocking case has come to light related to the Biju Janata Dal MP of Odisha, Sulata Dev. MP Sulata Dev has alleged that he has received threats of rape and murder on social media. MP Sulata Dev himself has informed about this serious matter on his social media account.
The MP has shared screenshots of objectionable and threatening messages sent by the accused on social media and claims that the threatening person is Satyabrata Nayak, who is working in the Nashik branch of Mahindra Company. Not only this, the MP says that he is also an accused BJP worker. In this case, the Mahindra Group has issued a statement saying that if the allegations are found correct, strict action will be taken against the accused.
MP Sulata Dev wrote this thing by tagging PMO
Tagging the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), MP Sulata Dev wrote, “A woman MP is being threatened with rape and murder, that too by a well -known company and a person associated with a political party. If this can happen to an MP, what will be the condition of ordinary women? Please take action on it.”
Along with this, he alleged that senior police officers of the state are silent on the matter and no concrete action has been taken so far.
Mahindra Group’s statement revealed
Following this serious allegation of the MP, the Mahindra Group immediately reacted and released an official statement. The statement wrote, “We have recently received information about the inappropriate and derogatory comments made by one of our employees against a leader on social media. Mahindra Group always considers human dignity and respect to be paramount. We do not tolerate any such wrong behavior, intimidation or threat of violence at all. We have started investigating immediately and if the allegations are found to be correct, then the accused will be found to be correct.”
There is a lot of ruckus on social media about this incident. Many people have demanded Mahindra Company to expel the accused. At the same time, some users have raised questions whether efforts are being made to save the accused due to political ideology?
To threaten any woman like this, she is also a crime under several sections on social media. It also provides for punishment in cases like threat of rape, murder, cybercrime and female harassment.
Now everyone’s eyes are on two things. First, on the results of the investigation being conducted by the Mahindra Group. Secondly, what action does the police and the government take in this matter. (Shubham Kumar’s report from Odisha)
