Bali: A boat filled with 65 passengers going to Bali Island in Indonesia suddenly drowned. This caused outcry. So far at least four people have died in this accident. It has at least 38 people missing. Police said the incident took place on Wednesday. The ferry was carrying 65 people, when Bali drowned in Strait on Wednesday night.
According to the statement of the local discovery and rescue agency, the ship departed from the city of Banugani in Java Island and was going towards a port north of Bali Island. The police chief of Banuwangi, Rama Samatama Putra said that 23 people have been rescued so far, while 4 have died. The boat had 65 passengers, including 53 passengers and 12 crew members. Along with this, 22 vehicles were also loaded.
Accident cause unknown
The agency said, it is a small ship, called the ferry anchor. According to the information, “This hawker named KMP Tunu Pratma Jaya drowned about 25 minutes after leaving the anchor.” Although the exact cause of the accident is not yet clear, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Vijaya has blamed it as “bad weather”. Rescue work is going on, missing people are being searched.
