Firing in Toronto
One person has been killed and several others were injured in a mass firing incident in Toronto, Canada. According to local media, the firing took place in the Lawrence Heights area of North York. The Toronto Police has confirmed that at least five people have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow and local councilor deputy mayor Mike Cole said in a social media post, “I am distressed by the news of firing in Lawrence Heights area this evening. My office is in touch with Toronto police, who are currently on the spot and are investigating the police attack.”

The emergency party has reported this in the Lawrence Heights area in the northern part of the city at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday. According to the Toronto Police Operations Center, the incident took place near Flemington Road and Zatri Court.
The Toronto police had initially reported that four people were shot, but later updated by paramedics, which was cited by CP24, said that five men and a woman between the age of 18 and 40 were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. In later updates, the police confirmed that one person died and the remaining five victims were badly injured.
