FIR registered in West Bengal on the makers of Kesari Chapter 2, know what is the matter

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ received mixed response at the box office. The film was based on the legal battle fought after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. At the same time, politics in West Bengal has become hot about this film.

The ruling Trinamool Congress of West Bengal has accused the makers of ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ of distorting the history of Bengal’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle and insulting Bengali revolutionaries. Along with this, an FIR has been registered against the makers.

An FIR has been lodged against the producers along with the film at Bidhannagar South Police Station under several sections of the Indian Code. The controversy has started with a scene of ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, in which the major freedom fighters of Bengal, especially prestigious Bengali revolutionary Khudiram Bose and Barindra Kumar Ghosh, have been misrepresented.

According to TMC, the film refers to Khudiram Bose as ‘Khudiram Singh’ and Barindra Kumar Ghosh is presented as ‘Birendra Kumar’ of Amritsar. TMC leaders described it as ‘deliberately distort history’ and ‘deep insult to Bengal’.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, the names of the great freedom fighters who died for the country were changed. It is not an attack on history, but an attack on the identity of Bengal. How did such a film get a censor certificate.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, without naming the film, has accused the BJP of underestimating the contribution of the freedom fighters of Bengal. He said, “Efforts are being made to underestimate the role played by Bengali revolutionaries during the freedom struggle. We condemn this. The BJP is targeting Bengal and our cultural heritage.
