Air India and Indigo flight affected
According to the news, Air India and IndiGo said on Thursday that some of its international flights have been affected by Pakistan’s airspace closure. Tata Group -owned airline Air India said its flights connecting North America, UK, Europe and Middle East are likely to go by alternative extended route. Apart from IndiGo and Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet also perform international operations.
Will have to go over the Arabian Sea
According to senior airline officials and pilots, these flights will have to take an alternative route which will be longer above the Arabian Sea. Amid the increasing tension between India and Pakistan due to the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan said on Thursday that it would prevent Indian airlines from using their airspace. In a post on the social media platform X, Air India said that due to the announcement of ban on Pakistan’s aircraft for all Indian airlines, it is expected that some flights of Air India coming to North America, UK, Europe and the Middle East or from there will run by alternative extended routes.
Airline regretted
The airline said that Air India regrets the inconvenience caused by this unexpected air space that is out of our control. We would like to reiterate that in Air India, the safety of our customers and crew is the top priority. IndiGo said that some of our international flights are being affected by Pakistan’s sudden announcement of airspace closure. The airline said in a post on X that we understand that this may cause inconvenience and our teams are trying their best to help you reach their destination as soon as possible.
